Favorite for amaryllis (or hippeastrum) in this Christmas season! Its flowering is spectacular, but what fascinates me is its growth (one to two centimeters a day, practically at sight...)  The bulb, bought at the end of October and exposed under a horticultural lamp 2 or 3 hours a day, gave birth to sumptuous flowers a dozen centimeters in diameter.
